Hot tub owner problems: Moving

When you own a hot tub, you notice little things in life that you otherwise never would have noticed. Some are good: feeling like you’re on vacation, spa-like relaxation and no sore muscles. Some are a little more irritating, like moving.

Hopefully, if you are a hot tub owner, you have no plans of moving. But, as we all know, sometimes life has other plans. If you find yourself in need of relocating, you may also find yourself with a big decision to make; do you leave the hot tub with your house?

large hot tub to move

Of course, it is possible to move the hot tub with you, but there are some things to consider:

Movers

Moving a hot tub is no easy task. Not only is it a very large item, but it is also one that uses various chemicals. Not to mention, it isn’t exactly cheap. Don’t risk injury or damage to the hot tub; hire movers.

Find a local moving company, with a high customer rating, and inquire about moving hot tubs. Make sure they have plenty of experience moving hot tubs, and are prepared to take proper precautions.

Re-installation

Depending on how far away you move, you may have to look into hot tub installation companies in your new area. Moving companies don’t always have the ability to install hot tubs. As you already know, it can be complicated. The last thing you want is your hot tub to sit on your new deck as nothing more than a prop.

Do your research and find hot tub retailers that can install your hot tub. This will reduce any added stress when moving; you will probably have enough to deal with anyway.

Cost

Finally, all of these “little” extra considerations will cost a little extra cash. Moving can be expensive enough, without the expense of moving a hot tub. Set aside some money for the cost of moving your hot tub. In the end, it will spare you a lot of shock when you look at your bank account after the move.

If you have to relocate, don’t sacrifice your hot tub. All it takes is a little extra preparation, and you can make your hot tub part of your new home. Do you have a story to share about moving your hot tub?
