Entertaining with a Hot Tub and a BBQ (It's Munchies Monday!)

We know it's early, but we love gearing up for barbecues-by-the-hot-tub season. In fact, we don't even want to wait for warmer weather. What's better than snacking and soaking in a hot tub when it's cold out? So, in preparation for this year's hot tub parties, we thought we'd start sharing a few recipes; food that's easy enough to make and share when you're entertaining guests. Once a month, on a Monday, we'll post something for you to make and enjoy. If you're worried about making a mess, you may remember we recently discussed how to keep things simple and tidy when you're feeding people near your spa » When you're hosting (or attending) a hot tub party, chances are you won't want to eat something messy. It's much simpler to make easy finger foods, and things people can eat with only their hands and a napkin or plate. Since burgers fit that description, and they're a barbecue classic, we think the best way to kick off barbecue party season is to give your guests what they want: delicious, fire-kissed, classic hamburgers. Classic Hamburgers 1 lb. (450 g) extra-lean ground beef 1 egg 2 Tbsp. barbecue sauce 4 hamburger buns Optional ingredients: 1/2 cup oatmeal (healthy way to help keep patties together when shaping), chopped onion, and cheese Condiments to your liking (mustard, ketchup, mayonnaise, cheese, onion, lettuce, tomato) Combine beef, egg, and barbecue sauce until well mixed. Shape into four hamburger patties. Grill patties for approximately five minutes on each side or until meat reaches an internal temperature of 160ºF. Toast buns on grill if desired; place condiments and cooked patties on buns and serve. Feeds four. If you have any requests for barbecue recipes you'd like to see, let us know.
